Apple May Take Up To 8 Years To Offload 10% Of Chinese Production Capacity To Other Countries

Apple is said to be looking at various methods of reducing its reliance on manufacturing in China – and looking at several other countries.

Although it has been discussed several times, realistically, it is seen as quite challenging for Apple to do such a thing.

According to Bloomberg's own analysis, it is expected to take up to 8 years to reduce only 10% of production capacity from China.

Today, almost 98% of iPhone production is done in China.

It is seen as quite difficult to challenge the ability of the supply chain in China, including in terms of logistics and so on which is quite organized compared to other countries.

In any case, with the recent tension between the United States and China, including the American government's policy of reducing trade with China - it is expected that various western companies may reduce their production dependence in China.

According to estimates, it is expected that western manufacturers may reduce their dependence on the Chinese market between 20% to 30% in the next decade.

Apart from China, it is expected that Taiwan will remain the main semiconductor and chip production hub for at least the next 5 years.
