The new generation Apple TV 4K was already introduced last night with a price starting at RM699. It is powered by the A15 Bionic chip, comes with a smaller, lighter design, no fan and also supports HDR10+ display. The Remote series is also updated with USB-C and no more charging cables are provided.
However, the Apple TV 4K is still running tvOS 15 as the stable version of tvOS 16 will only be distributed in a few months. Later, all Apple TVs that support the new update will continue to receive tvOS 16.1 and some models will also receive tvOS 16.2
This update will come with improved Siri features to make it easier to use. First of all, the Siri interface is now more iPhone-like and can identify up to six different users. So when the voice command "What should I watch?" given it will display results based on different user interests.
AirPods users can also directly call Siri by saying "Hey Siri" without using the Siri Remote. It's just a pity, the use of Siri on the Apple TV set-top box is still limited to selected countries and there is no support in Malaysia. This new update will add support for Denmark, Luxembourg, and Singapore.
