The Bose Smart Soundbar 600 was launched this week bringing Dolby Atmos and Bose TrueSpace support. The speaker for the entertainment system also supports tethering to other devices using WiFi, Bluetooth, AirPlay 2 and even Chromecast. Also included is connectivity using eARC which gives it an advantage over the Sonos Ray smart speaker which only supports WiFi.
There are five audio drivers – two forward-firing, one tweeter for dialog audio throw and two more upward-firing for all-round sound. The size is quite compact which is 2.2″ x 27.3″ x 4.1″ and weighs 3 kilograms. For virtual assistant users, the Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant systems can also be used via the microphone on the top.
If users have other Bose speakers at home, the Smart Soundbar 600 can be paired with existing speakers to provide an audio experience simultaneously. Bose Smart Soundbar 600 is sold for $499 (~RM2340) in black only.
