Boston Dynamic Pledges Not To Use Robot Technology For Military Purposes

The use of robots in the military field has already been done in China, the United States, Russia and Turkey. Robots can double the effectiveness of the military which is currently facing the issue of decreasing number of recruits. Last week Boston Dynamics along with Agility Robotics, ANYbotics, Clearpath Robotics, Open Robotics and Unitree Robotics made a commitment that their civilian robotics technology would not be used for military purposes.

In addition to not using kendiri technology for the military, the six companies will also not help other companies to develop technology for others. They will also improve the evaluation of customers who buy products and work on technological solutions to reduce the risk of using robotic arms.

The efforts made by Boston Dynamics are commendable even in the early stages of developing the Big Dog robot that carries cargo specifically for military use. This technology later became the inspiration for the Da Gou robot developed in China.
