The National Scam Response Center will begin operations this month according to Finance Minister Tunku Zafrul during the presentation of the 2023 Budget just now. This will be a local center for victims of online fraud to seek help and report the increasing number of cases.
In order to ensure that the public is aware of the cases and types of online fraud, the financial and digital literacy program for consumers will also be intensified. Finally, the government will allocate RM73 million to empower CyberSecurity Malaysia to strengthen the monitoring, detection and reporting of cyber threats including building the capacity of the country's cyber forensic system.
