Digi Gets 12.5% Stake in DNB

Digi today announced they have entered into an agreement to obtain a 12.5% equity stake in DNB.

For information, a total of 65% stake is offered by the government in DNB to 4 telecommunication companies. The remaining 35% equity holding will be owned by the Ministry of Finance.

Digi says the stake will also increase to 17.5% if the Celcom and Digi merger is completed in mid-2023 - and the Ministry of Finance's equity stake will drop to 30% by then.

Digi is expected to spend a total of RM291,666,668 for this purpose – for a holding amounting to 17.5% if the merger of Digi and Celcom takes place. If the merger does not happen, Digi will spend RM178,571,429 for a 12.5% stake.
