Elon Musk announced he wanted to buy Twitter a few months ago before pulling out after saying the platform was not transparent about its actual user numbers. After being sued by Twitter for breach of promise, Musk changed his stance once again as he now once again says he wants to continue with the original intention.
According to a Wall Street Journal report, if he succeeds in buying Twitter, Musk plans to hire 75% of the workforce. This equates to 5625 of Twitter's current 7500 employees. These actions are taken to reduce operating costs that make the company look profitable to attract investors.
