Climate change has caused the world's wild animals to decline by 60% since 1970. This week the emperor penguin was classified as an endangered species by the United States Department of Fish and Wildlife.
According to the latest data, there are 650,000 emperor penguins in Antarctica now but they are predicted to shrink by up to 47% by 2050. If no action is taken, they will be extinct by 2100. Water management in the oceans which are important for breeding and being a place for penguins to allow children to be a factor it is threatened with extinction.
At the same time the krill shrimp population which is also affected by the hot weather and pollution contributes to the reduction of the penguin population in the near future.
