Lately some reports have come out saying that Apple will start using the USB-C plug for their iPhone devices in a few years.
Recently, the European Union has confirmed that not only Apple, but all electronic device brands are required to use USB-C plugs on their devices by 2024.
One of the reasons given for this latest standard is to reduce dependence on adapter accessories and also to reduce waste and disposal of electronic components.
Apart from smart devices, electronic equipment seen will need to use the plug including earphones, tablets, compact audio players and so on.
This also means that Apple in particular will have to eventually use the plug on their iPhone devices that will be launched later that year. Android device brands that still use the Micro-USB plug are also expected to have to use the USB-C plug starting that year.
