Vivo has announced a new Android-based launcher update for its smartphones with the introduction of FunTouch OS 13. It is equipped with brand new customization capabilities, in addition to enhanced functions and security systems for a smoother user experience. The official update timeline has also been shared which starts with the Vivo X80 Pro model, then the full list for future supported devices is as below :
With this new launcher, users have more freedom for visual control on the home screen. For example, the monochrome icon feature that offers the ability to match the color of the icon with the background image, system or application interface. In addition, the ability to set custom color options for the entire system interface and built-in applications is also offered, this includes for the notification panel, audio volume control and others. Users are given the option to either use the color from the background image or the built-in optional theme to determine the appropriate color for a more personalized look.
Next, a brand new application pin setting was also introduced for better privacy protection. Through it, users can not only set a pin to ensure that sensitive data remains secure. In fact, it also controls the settings that can be accessed by other people while using the device. This includes hiding a number of sensitive photos and videos, then setting certain access to prevent others from seeing them.
In addition, file management is also better through the brand new iManager feature that specifically helps monitor the usage time of an application. Not only that, it also helps reduce overheating issues on the device by minimizing the number of active applications in the background and adjusting the frequency of CPU usage based on the built-in cooling system.
Other changes included include updates with more detailed data. The photographic experience is also better with new stabilization that helps reduce the problem of shaky images, in addition to the ability to mute sound or adjust the exact volume in a video during the editing process.
