The world's most popular web browser is Google Chrome according to statcounter, where 65.7% of users use it compared to Safari 18.66%, Edge 4.32%, Firefox 3.14%, Samsung Internet 2.75% and Opera in last place with 2.25%.
A few days ago, we reported that Google Chrome support will end for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 in February 2023. Now, it seems that older versions of Android will also end support.
Google Chrome version 107 now appears to only support Android 7.0 (Nougat) and above. This means, this web browser is no longer supported on Android devices running Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). This information was obtained through the APKMirror site which lists the Chrome APK file of this version that can only be installed on Android 7.0 and above.
Google Chrome version 107.0.5304.54 is not yet widely distributed. The Android device I use now is still running Chrome version 106 even though it has been updated on the Play Store. But those who are interested, can just download the APK on this page.
