Google Develops Project Starline Tests That Make Realistic 3D Video Calls

Project Starline was announced last year with the premise of allowing realistic teleconference calls to be made when Earth's population had to stay at home and were prevented from having face-to-face meetings due to the pandemic. Through smart screen technology and 3D camera, realistic video calls can be made with 3D technology.

Google has now announced that the Project Starline test will be expanded to 100 more of their business partners after previously only being tested in their offices in the United States. Tests are being carried out in the media, medical and business sectors to see if this technology can be used in the real world.

Among the companies that will test Project Starline are Salesforce, WeWork, T-Mobile and Hackensack Meridian Health. Even though the world is open again, the pandemic proves that sometimes a teleconference meeting is more pleasant for various parties because it saves time and costs. So 3D video calling technology may have a need in the short term.
