Google Has Reportedly Sold Just Under 30 Million Pixel Devices Since 2016

Ever since Google started introducing its own smartphone under the Pixel, it started getting a lot of attention. But with the Pixel 3 their sales dropped and only by introducing mid-range devices in the A series like the Pixel 3A did their sales pick up again.

Since 2016, Google has been present with 15 models of Pixel devices and according to the IDC report shared by Bloomberg representatives – Google has sold around 27.6 million devices. When compared to Samsung's sales in 2021, Google only sold 1/10 as much as Samsung.

This means, Google needs another 60 years to reach Samsung's sales record. Ever since the Pixel 4 was introduced as well, sales of Pixel devices have weakened due to less useful features and increasingly expensive prices. Google is said to have never achieved sales of 7 million units in a year like they managed to do with the Pixel 3a a few years ago.

Tonight Google will launch the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Both of these devices look more attractive with more powerful features and functions, more powerful Tensor G2 performance and a more premium looking design. If this device succeeds in captivating the hearts of the public, it will probably succeed in reaching a sales record of over 30 million.
