Google May Be Developing a Pixel 7 Mini Device

Last May, we reported that Google might be developing another smartphone that is more powerful than the Pixel 7 Pro. In the development code of the Android operating system running on Pixel devices there are two other product codenames namely Felix and Lynx. Felix is said to be a device with a Pixel foldable screen, while Lynx is said to be for the Pixel 7 Ultra.

Now, @Za_Raczke has found evidence in the code of the Android operating system on the Pixel 7 that the Lynx is a Pixel 7 device with lower specifications than the Pixel 7 Pro. He says this because the code for the Lynx suggests the device's screen is 1080p only and will likely support 120Hz. Then the sensors for the ultra-wide-angle and selfie cameras are from the Sony IMX712 and will use the Qualcomm WCN6740 (FastConnect 6700) modem chip that supports WiFi 6E instead of the BCM4389 as in the Pixel 6 or Pixel 7.

This means, the Lynx may be a Pixel 7 Mini device or if Google maintains their strategy like the Pixel 6a – this code is for the Pixel 7a device that offers the same features and specifications as the flagship device but is offered at a cheaper price.
