Google Pixel is one of the good smartphones and has many exclusive Android features that are not available on other Android devices. Although this device was not launched in Malaysia, it still has many fans and some even bought import sets for this device.
Due to the unofficial Google Pixel in Malaysia, it suffers from network issues where VoLTE support cannot be used. With the 3G network already closed in Malaysia, it makes using these imported set devices even more problematic.
Many Malaysian users reported this issue to Google and recently via issuetracker.google.com, a representative has confirmed that Pixel 5 and below devices will not support VoLTE at all. However, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will already support VoLTE for Celcom, Digi and Maxis.
This support was first noticed by Pixel 6 users through the Android 13 QPR1 beta version update, where a switch to activate VoLTE started appearing. Now it's official and those using five devices can use Celcom, Digi and Maxis SIM cards without any problem.
