Google Pixel 7 And Pixel 7 Pro Now Official – G2 Tensor Powered And Smarter 50MP Camera

Tonight, Google has launched their highly anticipated new flagship devices, the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Both these devices as usual have already been leaked months before the launch, even prototype units have been sold on several e-commerce sites. Now finally this device is official and it shows more interesting specifications.

The design of these two devices is no longer a secret because it has been revealed by Google. It still uses the same design as Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, but with a flatter screen, a design that looks more premium, and a camera bar that now uses aluminum construction material instead of glass before. The body of the device is built with iron construction materials with different finishes, Pixel 7 with zirconia aluminum while Pixel 7 Pro with polished aluminum. The majority of the construction materials of the Pixel devices launched tonight are also from recycled materials.

Google Pixel 7 Pro comes with a 6.7″ OLED LTPO QHD+ screen. It supports an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate that can change according to the type of content. This device is powered by a Google Tensor G2 chip which is Google's own second generation chip paired with 12GB of RAM memory and up to 256GB of internal storage. The battery is 5000mAh which is guaranteed to last up to 72 hours with 30W fast charging.

For the camera, the Pixel 7 Pro uses a tri-camera configuration with a 50MP sensor (main) + 48MP (telephoto) 5x optical zoom + 12MP (ultra wide angle) autofocus and a 10.8 Megapixel selfie camera. Google also includes artificial intelligence features for Macro Focus support, Cinematic Blur, 10-bit HDR video recording, Super Res Zoom 30x zoom and Real Tone for fair skin tones.

Google also maintains the use of their Titan M2 security chip that provides device protection as well as for the under-screen fingerprint scanner and finally returns support for face-based unlocking. The Pixel 7 Pro also has IP68 water and dust protection. Google offers Obsidian, Hazel or Snow color options for this device.

The Pixel 7 comes in a smaller size. The screen of this device uses a smaller panel which is 6.3″ OLED FHD+ and refresh rate is only 90Hz. It is powered by the same chip that is the Google Tensor G2, but the memory is limited to only 8GB of RAM. Storage is also the same offering up to 256GB. The battery of the device is bigger with a capacity of 4355mAh with 30W charging as well. The guarantee of battery life is also the same which is up to 72 hours, but it is necessary to use Extreme Battery Saver mode.

For the camera, the Pixel 7 uses the same sensor – but the configuration is dual-camera with the absence of the 48MP telephoto 5x optical zoom sensor. The sensor used is 50+12 Megapixel, no Macro Focus support, the Super Res Zoom feature is only 8x zoom - but still supports Cinematic Blur/Movie Motion Focus video recording features. The selfie camera is also the same as the Pro, which is 10.8 MP.

Like the Pro model, this device also has the Titan M2 security chip, face scan support, an under-screen fingerprint scanner and also IP68 protection. Google offers a choice of Obsidian, Lemongrass or Snow colors.

Both devices have HDR10+ display support, stereo speakers, come straight with Android 13 with five years of security updates. and some exclusive Pixel 7 features like free VPN through Google One.
