Intel Reportedly Will Cut Thousands of Workforce Due to Falling PC Demand

Intel is struggling due to reduced demand for PCs as well as increased competition from AMD. So according to Bloomberg, Intel will cut thousands of jobs this month.

A workforce reduction of up to 20% will take place in Intel's sales and marketing division. Intel did not comment on this report but it is believed to be able to reduce operating costs by up to 15%.

In addition to the post-pandemic decline in demand for PCs, Intel has also lost customers such as Apple who have been using their own chips for the past two years. They are only expected to offer chips with performance comparable to Apple Silicon in just a few years when they should be offered now.
