The Interim Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri has now stated that the ministry has not yet discussed any action against students who sell Student Devices - including whether to blacklist the students or otherwise.
Previously, it has been shared that 14 cases have been identified regarding selling Student Devices to the public. This is a violation of the agreement made by the student when receiving the Student Device, including dishonesty towards it.
Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri also called on students not to sell it, because it is part of the government's aspiration to help students.
This act of selling it may also have an impact in the future if not curbed quickly. Initially, the government aimed to provide it in the form of loans to prevent this kind of thing from happening. But, so that there is no need to make it difficult for students to go through the process of returning it - now cases such as selling Student Devices arise.
Yesterday, it was also shared that the government already has a tracker for each Student Device, and can deactivate a device if it is identified as being sold or used by non-recipients.
