Apple announced various new prices for the Apple One, Apple TV+ and Apple Music late last night. At the same time they also gave the iOS 16.1 and iPadOS 16 updates that had been promised before.
iOS 16.1 delivers the previously promised iCloud Shared Photo Library feature. Through it, photos taken using the camera will be shared directly to family members automatically. The camera can also be directed to save photos directly into a special folder for sharing.
Also provided is the customization of the lock screen and home screen of the device. Both can be changed separately and not simultaneously as in the original iOS 16. Next, digital car key sharing through Apple Wallet is also activated. Matter internet of things device protocol is also included together with Live Activities through Dynamic Island.
In iPadOS 16, the Stage Manager feature is given to some selected iPad Pro and iPad Air models. This improved multitasking feature requires a large amount of RAM and is therefore not provided to the base iPad model. In addition to Stage Manager, iPadOS 16 also brings many of the same features as iOS 16 before.
The iOS 16.1 update is 1.47GB in Malaysia while iPadOS 16 is 2.85GB and it can be downloaded OTA now.
