The accident detection system on the iPhone 14 has been proven to be effective in getting emergency help immediately. But this feature is still new and according to a WSJ report, some owners of the iPhone series are now reporting the device calling an emergency line while they're riding a rollercoaster.
So far six such incidents have been reported at the Kings Island theme park located in Cincinnati. In the audio recording heard, police heard the screams of an individual riding a rollercoaster when an automated call was made to the iPhone 14. The owner was unaware the device was making an emergency call because it was kept in a pocket.
Because incidents like this may happen again in the future as long as the system algorithm is not updated by Apple, iPhone 14 owners are advised to put the device into airplane mode before riding any attraction at the theme park. In addition to rollercoasters, bumper car games are also believed to trigger accidental detection of accidents.
