Meta Quest Pro Launches With Eye And Face Tracking Capabilities

The Meta Quest 2 Pro AR headset was launched at the Meta Connect event yesterday. As previously announced, this is a flagship headset with better AR graphics and tracking capabilities than the previous Quest 2.

The Quest Pro is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2+ chip which according to Meta provides 50% more processing power than the Quest 2. This is also matched with 12GB of RAM memory, and 256GB of storage. There are 10 sensors included – five on the inside and another five on the outside. The screen used is still of the LCD type but with a wider viewing angle.

With this sensor Quest Pro is able to track the user's eyes and face. This allows Horizon Worlds user avatars to display accurate facial expressions with the wearer's actual facial expression.

The camera system used this time will enable a more realistic and colorful augmented reality (AR) experience. This is a feature that was also supported on the previously launched PICO 4 headset. This feature allows the Quest Pro to be used as an AR and VR headset simultaneously.

Also introduced is the Meta Quest Touch Pro controller which has a good level of tracking with its position being tracked 360 degrees at all times. TruTouch Haptics haptic support allows the virtual world to be "held" more realistically.

The Meta Quest Pro is sold at a price of $1,499.99 (~RM4900) a pair complete with the Meta Quest Touch Pro controller. Also on offer are Quest Pro carrying case accessories, sun block, compact charging dock, and Quest Pro VR headset.
