Microsoft Fires a Number of Cross-Divisional Employees

Microsoft is now the latest technology company to reduce the number of their employees, in an effort to optimize operations during the recent economic instability.

These job cuts are across many different divisions, and not focused on any specific product. The number of workers affected is unknown, but is estimated to be less than 1000 people.

Before Microsoft, a number of other companies have also reduced their number of employees, in addition to stopping the hiring of new employees. Companies that have done the same before include Twitter, Snap, Flipboard and several others.
