Garmin's collection of wearables under the MARQ series has been updated with five new offerings. This includes the MARQ Athlete (Gen2), MARQ Adventurer (Gen2), MARQ Golfer (Gen2), MARQ Captain (Gen2) and MARQ Aviator (Gen2) which come with a durable body with a premium finish.
All of this new MARQ collection is made from premium materials such as sapphire crystal, ceramic and jacquard-weave nylon. Then, the Grade-5 titanium frame used is claimed to be five times stronger than most steel, making it both scratch resistant and lightweight. Strap options are also diverse which include titanium, leather, nylon and silicone.
Also included are built-in health and fitness sensors that include heart rate monitoring, breathing and pressure tracking, sleep patterns, body energy monitoring and Jet Lag Adviser. Updates made this time include support for multi-band GNSS, multi-frequency GPS (L1+ L5) and Garmin SatIQ technology that can select the satellite mode according to the environment in real time.
Battery capacity is not disclosed but is advertised to last up to 16 days in smartwatch mode. Despite sharing some of the same features and functions, each of the models has its own focus.
For example, MARQ Athlete (Gen2) is aimed at athletes, so it is equipped with various tracking sensors and training applications. Meanwhile, the MARQ Adventurer (Gen2) is designed with more classic elements with a leather design on the side and a durable hybrid rubber strap. Also included is a compass bezel that can be used while traveling.
MARQ Golfer (Gen2) is specifically for golfers, in addition to being complete with more than 42,000 maps of golf courses around the world. Then, the MARQ Captain (Gen2) is also suitable for marine activity enthusiasts such as the navy. Also included is an alarm that will signal tidal changes and anchor drag.
Finally, MARQ Aviator (Gen2) is specifically designed for pilots and can be used to navigate to locations in the aeronautical database around the world. Also included is JetLag Advisor support, NEXRAD radar and flight weather access. For the price, this new collection will be marketed starting from $1900 (~RM8,894) up to $2400 (~RM11,235) depending on the type of model.
