Devices under the Redmi Note 12 series were once rumored to come with a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chip. It turns out to be true and this has been revealed by Redmi itself through some recent tweets on Weibo.
What is known so far, there are two variants of the model to be announced which include Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro+. According to Redmi, the new generation of the Note series will be supplied with a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chip, at the same time capable of presenting a good long-term device usage experience. This includes performance and battery life.
Just for reference, the Dimensity 1080 is the latest update from MediaTek to its mid-range chip lineup. It uses a 6nm technology build and supports a camera resolution of up to 200MP.
In the same development, the imaging system on the device will also be improved. For example, using the Sony IMX 766 sensor with built-in OIS.
