CFexpress Type A storage typically has a smaller capacity than CFexpress Type B. This is because its physical size is also smaller. Simultaneously with the launch of Sony FX30 yesterday, Sony announced that they will start offering CFexpress Type A cards with a capacity of 640GB which makes it the largest ever produced.
The card has the ability to read at a speed of 800 MB/s and write at a speed of 700 MB/s which enables 4K 120p video recording at a high bit rate. In addition, the card also passes IP57 dust and water resistance standards and can be used in various types of weather.
The selling price of the CEA-G640T with a capacity of 640GB is €1350 (~RM6148) starting in December while the CEA-G320T with a capacity of 320GB is sold at a price of €710 (~RM3233) starting this October.
