The most notable shortcoming of the Horizon Worlds metagame platform so far is that user avatars only display half of the body. It became a meme because it was not only strange but to some extent caused the virtual experience to not feel immersive. At the Meta Connect 2022 event, Mark Zuckerberg announced that user avatars will eventually display the entire body.
According to him, artificial intelligence is used to estimate the position of the feet and how they look in the VR room. So far the artificial intelligence used has not been able to display the position of the user's feet and hands accurately so it looks strange. Only now did Meta feel the technology was mature enough for avatars to finally be fully fleshed out.
Although full-bodied avatars have been shown, Meta says they will only be available to platform users starting next year on mobile devices, headsets and more.
