Telegram is now seen to have started displaying advertising on Telegram Channels – for a large number of channels in Malaysia, as well as globally.
Through it, an advertisement in the form of a message is displayed in the last message section of a Telegram Channel. It is labeled as “sponsored” at the bottom indicating it is an ad.
According to Telegram, they do not monitor or track users – making ads randomly targeted according to Telegram Channels.
With this initial step, we may soon see more brands start using the Telegram platform to advertise their offerings. Alternatively, for those of you who do not want advertising on your Telegram, you can subscribe to the Telegram Premium plan priced at RM13.90 per month which also comes with some additional features.
