As you know, Elon Musk wants to make Twitter Blue subscription the only way for users to get Verified status on the platform. Twitter Blue comes with various features such as a more extensive Bookmark function, NFT sharing, tweet editing and so on.
According to a report by The Verge, Elon Musk is seen wanting to increase the subscription price of Twitter Blue from $4.99 (~RM30) per month to $20.00 (~RM90) per month to ensure that accounts that want Verified status pay for it every month.
It was also reported that the plan to charge users via Twitter Blue for the status is nothing new, but increasing the price tag of the subscription was a surprise decision made by Elon Musk.
Not only that, the new owner of Twitter has also instructed Twitter employees responsible for the Twitter Blue subscription program to implement a 90-day warning to subscribe to Twitter Blue before losing that status by November 7, or they will be fired.
This can be seen as a rather strange situation for Twitter because the Twitter Blue subscription is still limited in some selected markets such as the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, and the Verified program is accessible globally.
Does this also mean that Twitter will introduce the Twitter Blue subscription to all their users in the near future?
