World Record For Fastest 0-100 km/h Acceleration For EV Vehicle Held By This Midget Race Car

Electric vehicles (EVs) will be used more widely in the near future. This is inevitable with the Malaysian government itself providing various subsidies to encourage purchases assisted by private companies such as Gentari that install charging stations. Among the advantages of electric vehicles compared to fossil fuel vehicles (ICE) is higher acceleration capability.

The 0-100 km/h world record is currently held by a midget racing car developed by the GreenTeam from the University of Stuttgart. It took just 1.416 seconds and this was significantly faster than the previous record of 1.513 seconds held by the AMZ Racing team.

This car only weighs 145 kilograms which is matched with four electric motors with a combined power of 241 horsepower. The fastest production electric car at the moment is the Tesla Model S Plaid which recorded the same acceleration in 1.98 seconds.

This GreenTeam electric car is not only faster than Tesla but also faster than Bugatti Chiron Super Sport, Ferrari SF90 Stradale and Porsche 918 Spyder which all recorded a time of more than 2 seconds.
