Xiaomi has today launched two new smartphones as successors to the Xiaomi 11T and Xiaomi 11T Pro. These two devices are the Xiaomi 12T and the Xiaomi 12T Pro, which again offer flagship-like specifications but at a more affordable price than the competition.

Xiaomi 12T Pro comes with a 6.67-inch CrystalRes AMOLED DotDisplay screen with 120Hz refresh rate support, AdaptiveSync support for displays as low as 30Hz, it can also display content in Dolby Vision and HDR10+ formats. The processing chip used is one of the most powerful for Android devices to date, namely Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 with 8GB RAM and 3GB RAM virtual memory or 12GB RAM and internal storage up to 256GB UFS 3.1.

The advantage of this device is the camera, where it uses a tri-camera configuration with a 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP1 sensor with OIS + 8MP ultra wide angle + 2MP macro with 200MP system support Xiaomi ProCut, Xiaomi ProFocus, 8K video recording, HDR10+ video recording and camera 20MP selfie.

The device's battery is 5000mAh with 120W HyperCharge fast charging which also supports AdaptiveCharge so that the device can be charged with other fast chargers such as PD or GaN. The speakers on the device are Dolby Atmos stereo tuned by Harmon/Kardon. The Xiaomi 12T Pro also has an under-screen fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, WiFi 6 and runs MIUI 13 based on Android 12.

The Xiaomi 12T is a more affordable variant, so there will be little difference in this device compared to the Xiaomi 12T Pro. For example, the same screen which is 6.67-inch CrystalRes AMOLED DotDisplay with 120Hz refresh rate support and also supports AdaptiveSync for display as low as 30Hz. But it only supports HDR10+ and no Dolby Vision support.

The processing chip is MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Ultra, which is a capable premium mid-range chip. It is paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 internal storage. The camera is also more or less the same with the tri-camera configuration, but the main sensor is a 108MP Samsung ISOCELL HM6 instead of 200MP with 8MP ultra-wide angle and 2MP macro. Unlike the Xiaomi 11T, this time both the 12T supports OIS and can also record Ultra Night Video. The selfie camera is the same 20MP as the Pro.

The battery of the device is also the same which is 5000mAh with 120W HyperCharge fast charging which also supports AdaptiveCharge. Although the speakers are the same type of stereo, it is only the Dolby Atmos version and there is no Harmon/Kardon touch. For security a fingerprint scanner under the screen is included, connectivity is Bluetooth 5.2, WiFi 6 and runs MIUI 13 based on Android 12.

In Europe, the Xiaomi 12T is sold at a price of €549 which is around RM2526 and the Xiaomi 12T Pro starts from €749 which is around RM3446. The Malaysian sales price has not been announced yet for now.
