Xiaomi Cloud Gallery Sync is a Xiaomi cloud storage service offered to all Xiaomi users to back up photos and videos in their cloud storage. The service is offered for free with 10GB of storage provided.
Upgrade options are also offered such as 50GB, 200GB or the largest 2TB. But the subscription fee is in Yuan and the payment method needs to use WeChat Pay or Alipay.
Xiaomi has now announced that the Xiaomi Cloud Gallery Sync service for global users will end this year, but no date has been given yet. For now, all pictures and videos are still accessible to users. Those who subscribe to larger storage can still use as usual.
Xiaomi is working with Google to make it easier for users to transfer data directly to Google Cloud. All this will start this year in stages. This data transfer feature will be offered through the Xiaomi Gallery app, where users will see how to do it when it is available.
Then in 2023, all photos and videos will start to be deleted and the option to transfer data to Google Photos will also be stopped. For those who want to do this data transfer earlier, the manual method can be started through the Xiaomi Cloud website and download all the data to the computer. After it's done, back it up to Google Photos as well.
Those who are ready to subscribe to additional Xiaomi Cloud storage, money will be returned at a date to be announced later. Xiaomi did not give any explanation why this feature was discontinued. Let's wait together.
