Audio-Technica Launches Wireless Headphones Made Of Wood

Modern headphones are mostly made of plastic materials because they are durable and lightweight. So it's rare that other construction materials are used in modem headphones. In conjunction with the company's 60th anniversary, Audio-Technica launched wireless headphones made of wood.

The ATH-WB2022 headphone cup is made of maple, walnut, and mahogany wood. It supports LDAC, AAC and SBC formats. Also included is an ESS ES9038Q2M DAC that will ensure audio can be heard at a high quality. Two 45mm audio drivers of the closed but balanced type are used.

With a single charge, the battery can last up to 9 hours. Recharging takes 2.5 hours. When the battery runs out, a wired connection can still be done via a 3.5mm cable. The sponge lining uses soft Alcantara material.

Because it is a unique product, the Audio-Technica ATH-WB2022 is offered in limited quantities at a price of $2700 (~RM12,700) a pair starting in 2023.
