The European region is not the only party seen to want to change the use of charging plugs to USB-C for all electronic devices sold there. The Indian government also recently confirmed that they will ensure that all electronic devices sold in the country meet standards using USB-C charging.
According to reports, a number of Indian government ministries have met with leading global technology companies such as Samsung, Apple, HP, Dell, and Lenovo to discuss this matter, and they seem to have unanimously agreed to coordinate the use of USB-C plugs as charging plugs for their electronic devices.
This is not surprising for smart device makers, other than Apple. Still, the leading device company has already confirmed that they will use USB-C plugs on their iPhone devices soon, and their other devices such as iPads and MacBooks already use USB-C charging plugs.
It is expected that the Apple Airpods audio device will also stop using the Lightning plug soon.
Even more interesting is the meeting with the laptop maker. Although most laptops marketed globally already use USB-C plugs as charging plugs and power supplies, gaming laptops that use power plugs with higher power standards are still a problem for this transition.
This problem may be solved with the use of a USB4 plug which is seen to not only come with a very fast data transmission speed of 40Gbps, but can also supply power as high as 100W.
