Mediatek Pentonic 1000, Kompanio 520 And 528 Chips For TV4K And Chromebook

 


MediaTek launched three more new chips aimed at 4K smart TVs and Chromebook computers. The MediaTek Pentonic 1000 chip for example is a chip equipped with a quad-core Arm Cortex-A73 CPU and an Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.



Through this chip, screen display up to 4K 120Hz or 4K 144Hz in VRR can be supported. Dolby Vision and HDR10 visuals can also be displayed. The AI ​​Super Resolution system increases the video resolution from low to higher. Meanwhile, the Dolby Atmos audio system is also supported. Codec types VVC, HEVC, AV1 and AVS3 can also be played.



Meanwhile, the MediaTek Kompanio 520 and 528 chips are for Chromebook computers. Both chips have the same core configuration but different speeds. The Kompanio 520 is equipped with two 2.0GHz Cortex-A76 CPUs and six Cortex-A55 CPUs. Meanwhile, the Kompanio 528 is equipped with two 2.2 GHz Cortex-A76 CPUs and six Cortex-A55 CPUs. The GPU is the same Mali-G52 MC2 2EE.


With this configuration the chip can play H.265 and VP9 video. Cameras up to 32MP can also be used. The highest screen resolution that can be used is FHD+ 60Hz. Chromebook laptops that use this chip will be released soon.
