Sony Replaces IMX Name To LYTIA For Mobile Device Camera Sensors

Sony Semiconductor Solutions or SSS has recently introduced LYTIA, as a brand for their mobile device camera sensors. LYTIA will replace the current IMX name.

According to Sony, LYTIA is a combination of two words, Lyra which means constellation and light which means light. They want to offer a sensor that is beyond consumer expectations through this new branding. For now, Sony still hasn't announced any new sensors with the use of this new name and the existing ones on the market will remain with the IMX name – such as the Sony IMX 989 which is a 1″ sensor in collaboration with Leica.

Sony will also continue to work with device manufacturers to make this LYTIA name a success. What was the first device to use the Sony LYTIA sensor? Let's wait together.
