TSMC Founder Says Arizona Factory Will Produce 3nm Chips in Future

Last week we reported that Apple will be TSMC's main customer when their processing chip manufacturing plant in Arizona opens in 2024. It is expected that this factory will produce processing chips using the N5 node, specifically the existing 5nm chips.

Recently, a new report says that Morris Chang, the founder of the company said that while it is true that the factory's initial focus is to manufacture existing processing chips, it is expected to develop processing chips with more advanced nodes such as 3nm in the future.

Typically TSMC will introduce more modern processing chip building technologies every two to three years, and the introduction of such technologies for the future Arizona plant is not surprising.

Morris said that there were also many invitations from various other countries, but the company said it was difficult to accept because the labor required to operate the machinery of their factories was very difficult to find.
