Twitter Blue Customers Don't Need to Verify Identity to Get the “Verified” Logo

After Elon Musk announced that the blue "Verified" logo would be given to all Twitter Blue subscribers, many thought that identity verification would be done. This is the procedure used previously for each verified account. However this morning Esther Crawford who is the director of product management of Twitter said it will not be done.

This blue smeared logo will be given to all customers who pay $8 per month. This confirms previous reports that said a copy of the identity card does not need to be provided. With the number of users who want to use Blue increasing and the number of staff being reduced Twitter does not have the capacity to quickly verify the true identity of users.

The issue here is that identity verification is one of the reasons why the blue smear on an account is important to prevent fraud. If all users can get it without authentication, the fraud issue will surely increase after this.
