Twitter will allow all Twitter Blue users to have a blue smear that verifies their identity in just a few days. Users who have previously had a blue skin need to subscribe to continue to have their identity verified. This morning Twitter product director Esther Crawford announced the new label "Official" will be introduced.
This label will be visible on profiles and will be assigned to politicians, media, brands, celebrities, companies and government-owned accounts. This according to him will differentiate these accounts from other Twitter Blue user accounts with the verified account smear logo. Not all accounts that previously received a blue smear will be given the Official label after this.
