Spotify is no longer the music streaming platform that everyone knows. It is an audio streaming platform that offers thousands of music, audiobooks, podcasts and video podcasts. In fact, Spotify Wrapped also includes a summary of podcasts that users listen to.
This effort to focus on Spotify became more serious after Spotify took over Anchor in 2019. Now after three years and seeing success, Anchor has been rebranded to Spotify Creator Studio.
According to TechCrunh, there are content creators starting to receive surveys stating that Anchor and Spotify for Podcasters will be called Spotify Creator Studio. This Creator Studio will be a hub for content creators to record podcasts, interact with listeners, view account status such as listenership, publish content to other podcast streaming platforms, view and monetize and more.
Spotify Creator Studio will also offer Unhosted features to monitor performance and interact with listeners for content posted on other platforms. While Hosted is the existing Anchor under a new name.
