Many are looking forward to the introduction of high-powered Apple Mac Pro computers powered by the latest Apple Series-M chips. Previously, it was said that Apple was developing an Apple M2 Extreme chip with high processing power, which would power the Mac Pro, but now it appears that plan has been scrapped.
According to a Bloomberg report, Apple has canceled the development of the Apple M2 Extreme for the Mac Pro, and will instead complete a high-powered computer with the Apple M2 Ultra chip variant.
Apple is said to have canceled the use of the M2 Extreme chip due to constraints on the production side – including its difficulty which may have made the cost higher.
If true, then with this, we might see a Mac Pro coming powered by an Apple M2 Ultra chip equipped with a 24-core chip, and support for 76 GPU cores.
