ASUS And Intel Set Fastest CPU Frequency Overclocking Record

Intel just launched their 13th generation Raptor Lake series of processing chips not too long ago, and demonstrated the ability to be overclocked to 5GHz using only air cooling.

Recently, it has been reported that the ASUS ROG overclocking team has managed to overclock the Intel Core i9-13900K processing chip up to 9.009GHz and run some benchmark tests temporarily.

The motherboard used for this world record is the ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Apex, with efficiency cores closed, using eight performance cores and eight power threads only.

The benchmark tests used were Pifast for 6.85 seconds and also SuperPi 32M for 3 minutes 3 seconds.

Cooling this processing chip is a combination of liquid helium and nitrogen at temperatures as low as 250 Celsius which does not have much temperature variation. This is great to prevent condensation from happening on the processing chip side.

ASUS and Intel are now seen holding the fastest processing chip speed record, surpassing the AMD FX-8370's previous record of 8.7GHz.
