Beware, These 2 Ways Can Drain Your Mobile Banking Balance!

In one device, all important information is stored. From personal data to crucial information such as mobile banking, everything is on the cellphone that you are currently holding.

Therefore, we must know things that can endanger the security of HP. For example, understanding two things is the most common way to drain your banking balance. Here are two ways:

1. Call forwarding

Mobile numbers have an important role in the process of mobile banking and mobile payments. This is because for every confirmation of personal data, the company will send a special password via a cellphone number called an OTP (One Time Password).

How dangerous it is if we carelessly use the Call Forward feature to other people.

If you succeed in tricking the victim into doing a call forward or SMS forward, well, it's the same as succeeding in controlling the device. That's the same as controlling accounts secured by TFA (two factor authentication).

Accounts such as e-Wallet , internet banking, credit card authorization will all be mastered. Including internet email accounts, social media, Whatsapp and others that use authorization via OTP.

How to activate the Call Forward feature itself is actually very simple, namely by pressing *21* (followed by the forwarding destination mobile number)#. So, don't ever get stuck if someone asks you to press the number on the cellphone screen.

2. SIM Swap Fraud

The mobile banking burglary mode can be done by means of 'sim swap fraud'. Where the perpetrator claimed the victim's simcard as his own and asked the operator to make a simcard with the same number.

The crime of 'SIM swap fraud' is mainly breaking into the victim's bank account through the mobile banking application.

SIM Fraud has characteristics that you can be aware of. One of them lost the signal on the number for a long time. This is because a cellphone number can only be used on one device. If you lose signal, it could be that your SIM has been cloned.
