FBI Encourages Users to Install Ad Blocker Plugins to Avoid Falling Victim to Scams

Towards the end of the year, many will purchase goods using bonus money, in addition to shopping during the holiday season. At the same time, it often makes people fall prey to cyber fraudsters.

In parallel, now the FBI is issuing warnings and reminders to the public – especially in the United States.

The FBI says many cyber fraudsters buy advertising, and act as if it's a real product or service ad, but is used to trick consumers.

In order to overcome and prevent users from becoming victims of such fraud, the FBI asks users to check and see that the clicked URL is correct and accurate before making any transaction. Often scam sites use typo-shaped domains on them.

In addition, people can also directly type the URL on the URL bar, instead of going through search or any directory.

And last but not least, the FBI also encourages the use of ad blockers on web browsers - at the same time avoiding these dangerous advertisements being displayed. Today, some web browsers such as Opera come with built-in ad blockers. In addition, there are also a number of applications and plug-ins that are offered to users to block the display of advertisements on a number of sites.
