Google Nest And Android Now Support IoT Matter Protocol

Matter is an internet of things (IoT) protocol accepted as a uniform standard by all manufacturers and it was officially launched last October. Today Google officially said Matter is supported on Google Home which means it can be accessed on Google Nest and Android products.

The issue with previous IoT systems was that there were too many different protocols. Matter will be supported by over 280 IoT device manufacturers such as Amazon, Apple, Google, Huawei, IKEA, Oppo, Signify, SmartThings and Xiaomi. Google for example confirms that devices that support Matter 1.0 can be connected to the Google Home system through the Fast Pair feature.
