Instagram Now Makes It Easier To Recover Hacked Accounts And Report Fake Accounts

A social media account with millions of followers is so valuable that it can sell for five figures. It is now an important commodity especially for social media influencers to generate income. But it is often reported that user accounts are hacked and difficult to return to the original owner.

Instagram today introduced a new feature to simplify the process of reclaiming hacked accounts. A quick link Instagram.com/hacked – has been launched so victims can get help faster locally.

It can also be used by users who have forgotten their password, lost their two-factor access and their account has been deactivated. With this feature, another layer of security is given to Instagram. Previously the account could be returned after getting the confirmation of the closest followers.

Also announced by Instagram is a security system that prevents fake accounts from making users victims of fraud. DMs received from unofficial accounts will be given a warning. There are fake account scams from top brands that say users win contests but end up losing money.

Fake accounts are also easier to report. The display of the Verified badge has also been improved so that users can ensure they are being contacted by the real account owner.
