iPhone 14 Accident Detection System Still Makes Emergency Calls Without Owner Realizing

The accident detection system on the iPhone 14 series will make an emergency call to the authorities if it feels that the owner is involved in an accident on the road. From the very beginning there have been reports that this feature is still not perfect because it makes an emergency call if the owner rides a roller coaster.

Recently in the United States the same system now makes an emergency call when the owner is using the snowboard. An emergency line in Colorado, for example, was bombarded with dozens of emergency calls near a skiing area. A total of 71 calls that did not involve actual accidents were received.

Because the procedure requires help to be sent to the location as well, it causes the ambulance needed for the actual emergency situation to be sent to another location. Apple has already provided an update to iOS 16 to reduce the occurrence of incidents of emergency calls being made accidentally. Obviously the detection algorithm used by Apple is still not accurate at this time.
