LastPass is one of the services that offers ease of managing passwords – and users can access multiple services without having to remember their entire password for a service.
Anyway, now it looks like LastPass is also a victim of hacking.
Through an incident that happened last August 2022, hackers are said to have accessed the source code and also technical information at that time.
Now, further investigations also show that hackers have access to some information related to users. It is said that the hackers also accessed the encrypted password data.
LastPass says the user's password is encrypted and can only be opened with the user's master password. However, LastPass also provides warnings and reminders to users not to be fooled by any cybercriminals – since it can still be brute-forced to guess the user's main password, and access various passwords in the user's storage.
In addition to passwords, data that hackers also access are names, email addresses, phone numbers, and several others.
