Laptops under the Lenovo Ideapad series are specially designed for good day-to-day performance at an adequate price. In an effort to give more choices to users, two more new models have been announced through Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5i and Lenovo Pro 5 Gen 8.
Both come with two screen size options to allow users to choose the one that suits their needs. Likewise with the different CPU support between the two, where the AMD chip is used on the IdeaPad Pro 5i, while the IdeaPad Pro 5 Gen 8 is powered by an Intel CPU.
We start with the IdeaPad Pro 5i which offers a 14-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 2.8K with a peak brightness of 400nits. Meanwhile, the 16-inch variant offers a 2.5K resolution IPS LCD screen with a peak brightness of 350nits.
Other additional features supported by both include a 120Hz refresh rate, a 16:10 aspect ratio and the ability to display 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. In addition, FHD resolution camera support with infrared support and Time of Flight sensor are also included.
Next, the seventh generation AMD Ryzen 7 processor is used on the IdeaPad Pro 5. Meanwhile, the IdeaPad Pro 5i uses the latest generation Intel CPU. Both also feature two GPU options, either AMD Integrated Graphics or the new NVIDIA GeForce depending on the respective variant. The available memory options are up to 16GB DDR 4 RAM and the built-in storage reaches 1TB M.2 PCle SSD.
In terms of durability, both pack a 75Whr battery capacity. The I/O options provided also consist of 1 x USB Type-C Thunderbolt 4.0, 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C, 2 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, 1 x HDMI 2.1, 1 x SD Card and audio jack 3.5mm. Not to be outdone, two speakers with Dolby Atmos are also included on the laptop.
The IdeaPad Pro 5i (14″) is sold with a starting price of €999 (~RM4705) starting in April 2023, while the IdeaPad Pro 5i (16″) starts at $1499.99 (~RM6,639) in May 2023. Next, the IdeaPad Pro 5 Gen 8 (14″) will be priced from 999€ (~RM4705) around July 2023, then, the 16-inch variant will be offered as low as 1399€ (~RM6591) from April 2023.
