NVIDIA Will Remove GameStream Support From Shield TV Devices

The NVIDIA Shield TV set top box series is seen as one of the best ways for hardcore gamers to access their gaming computer in the living room through a larger television screen.

This device is powered by a Tegra X1+ chip and comes with the main GameStream feature that allows users to take advantage of their NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics card to stream their favorite games on the television screen and not in the room at resolutions and refresh rates as high as 4K and 60FPS.

NVIDIA seems to be updating this NVIDIA Shield TV device and will remove the GameStream support soon. NVIDIA has sent an email to owners of this NVIDIA Shield TV and said that GameStream will no longer be supported.

As an alternative, NVIDIA Shield TV users are advised to use the Steam Link app and subscribe to GeForce Now to return to streaming their games as before. With GameStream, users can stream their games from home for free.
