Pentagon Awards Amazon, Google, Microsoft And Oracle Cloud Project Contracts Worth RM36 Billion

The civil defense sector can be seen as one of the economic sectors that can benefit various parties. Recently, in the United States, the United States Department of Defense has reportedly awarded a number of the country's technology companies grants for the cloud projects they need.

These companies include Amazon, Google, Microsoft and even Oracle, which apparently will work together to develop a cloud project called Joint Warfighting Cloud Capability (JWCC) which is the development of cloud infrastructure managed by different companies, compared to the previous policy which only use the services of one company only.

The Pentagon (USDoD headquarters) confirmed that between these four companies, they will receive a contract worth $9 billion (~RM40 billion) where they will be part of the JWCC project until 2028.

Through this JWCC project, the USDoD is seen as wanting to come up with a cloud system that has a system that is not limited to a single provider and allows the United States military to use diversity in terms of infrastructure for any type of project and not have to worry about any- which infrastructure components are vulnerable to hacker attacks.

Another interesting thing about the contracts given to these companies is that the USDoD can ask these companies to do any necessary tasks without limitation during the duration of this contract.
